Fasten off, do not stuff, sew top shut. Leave long tail for sewing.
Dots:
You can do his dots any way you choose.
Either cut out small circles of pink felt or crochet small circles.
If you choose to crochet them I reccomend:
Ch 2
1 . 4sc in second ch from hk – 4
2 . 2sc in each st around – 8
Assembly:
* Stuff trunk and sew onto head.
* Cut out and attach eyes ( glue or sew )
* Sew mouth under trunk.
* Attach “toes” to feet and arms, either glue or sew them on.
* Attach dots to all body parts before sewing him together. You can either sew or glue them on. If glueing, let dry overnight before sewing him together.
* Sew ears onto head.
* Sew head onto body. To really get his look, place his head center on the “neck”, push down ( so his neck squishes into his head )and pull the stitches tight when sewing to hold. This gives him the wobbly head look, but keeps him secure.
* Place and sew arms and legs.
He is adorable! Spots on elephants are a great idea!

I think he’s lovely . And he’s also white which isn’t elephant colour. He’s probably dressed in his best for when he’s in the circus.

What did you use to make his pink cheeks?
LikeLike
I use eye shadow on them when I want to get the rosy cheek look. I’m not sure what others use though!

I’ve never made something like this before. Do you chain up for each round or is it continuous like a spiral?
LikeLike
He’s done in a continuous spiral. Chain only where the pattern says to. 😀

It’s continuous like a spiral

How many spots should i make? Not sure how many there should be.

As many as you want. I didn’t count them, just put them where I thought they looked good and stopped when I was happy with the way he looked.

Hi, I wanted to ask about the decrease on the head how did you do the decrease with sc2together or something else?
LikeLike
Yes the decreases are done in the basic crochet rules. Single crochet to single crochets together.

She’s so cute. I do a lot of crocheting for charity. Is there a way to print this pattern.

I’m not entirely sure how you’re computer is set up, however if I was trying to print I would open my printers settings and print the page on the screen. I need to look into setting up a print option through word press, I haven’t quite figured out how to do that yet…

Thank you! One more question lol. How wide would you say? I’m wanting to put him in a stocking is why I’m asking. Sorry for all the questions. Thank you.

Oh geez, I’m not sure how wide. I no longer have the one I made but I’m sure he’ll fit sitting in the top of the stocking sticking out.

I love your elephant. I’m really confused about the mouth. Can you clarify the instructions a little.
LikeLike
Hello, what are you having trouble with, reading the instructions or attaching it to the body? For construction you are simply making a chain of 9, then starting the second chain from the hook, follow the set stitch pattern in each stitch across the chain. So the first thing you would do is a single crochet. In the next stitch a half double crochet and so on until you reach the last stitch in the chain. For assembly, just line up the corners of the mouth piece under the trunk where you would like the mouth to be and sew it in place. Hopefully that helps clarify for you.
