Gracie the Elephant

My cousin has an absolutely gorgeous little girl. She has fiery red hair and is always dressed in lovely shades of muted pinks and purples. Stunning child and so sweet as well! During our last visit, she had gotten ahold of one of the tiny elephants I had made and just loved it. The problem was it already belonged to my youngest niece…

For her first birthday I decided to make her her own elephant, this one is larger for actual hugging and carrying around. ( the kids been walking for months already!! )

This stuffie stands about 7 inches tall and has been named after the birthday girl.

Assembly:

* Sew nose into place

* Sew on ears

* For legs; run a strand of yarn through the body pulling tight where you plan on placing legs. This will give it the pulled in look. I did it a few times for sturdiness.

* I whip stitched the legs and arms closed before sewing into place.

*for the tail, I held four strands together and simply chained a few times then sewed onto the bottom.
